Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the state, generating strong winds topping 109km/h.

Emergency response teams responded to 598 calls for help across the region, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.
